Dear NYC apartment, this is my dream and inspiration for you... now make it work! Just kidding, kinda. Above are some inspirational pieces and ideas that I have collected to start to make the design of our living space come to reality. My fiance and I have a different design aesthetic but I plan to make it very unisex-ish with the darker colors and textures used throughout. My lovely finance is kinda like.. if you can dream it, I can build it.. but he is only allowing me one paint job per month so I am going with the black and white stripe look. Kinda fabulous, right? Starting to order pieces to get this bad boy underway! Stay tuned.

 My favorite texture as of late - hands down - faux fur.. I LOVE IT! I think that it's an easy fix to make inexpensive pieces, like an ikea couch, look more luxurious.  If you're a female decorating a co-ed bedroom, a color faux fur throw can bring in the masculine vibes without making it feel to harsh. With summer coming to an end I wanted to share a couple of my favorite things that have been amazing this season. My favorite addition to my daily products would have to my Illuminator by Nars. I will most definitely be using this new product throughout all seasons. My summer go-to lipstick was Mac's Pro Longwear line. It blew my mind how long it "actually" lasted... highly suggest this to all the girls wearing color! Printed pants (of all kinds) are my favorite clothing option and they can totally be carried into the fall. Last but not least, the fedora. I left the city for a weekend to travel back to my parents' house in Indiana where inspiration is endless.  There is just something about my parents' house that gives me a sense of security and brings me back down to reality.  The natural beauty of nature is so inspiring for me. The earthy textures and the aged barns are totally my style… texture mixed with edge! Basically what I am saying is to take a minute and let the world around you inspire you. It’s the easiest and always the best.
